Course Overview

Sexually transmissible infections (STIs) are significant public health concerns in Western Australia. Practitioners in general practice and primary care settings have a pivotal role in the diagnosis of STIs, including through increased opportunistic screening, and in providing on-going management and follow up for people and their partners.

These online modules will support Western Australian primary care providers to confidently discuss sexual health with patients and conduct guideline-based STI screening and testing.

The modules will launch in a new window – if they do not open, please try enabling pop-ups and temporarily disable your ad blocker or firewall.

Learning outcomes:

  • Identify priority populations for STI screening in Western Australia
  • Integrate conversations about sexual health into consultations
  • Implement best practice STI screening and testing using the WA Silver Book
  • Outline practitioners’ contact tracing responsibilities for patients diagnosed with STIs
