This two-part online workshop provides primary care providers with the information and tools required to improve STI screening and care for priority populations. The online workshop also addresses strategies available for the prevention of HIV transmission and highlights the importance of contact tracing and partner notification.
Target Audience:
GPs, GP registrars, Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, and other health professionals working in Primary Care settings.
Course Components:
Part 1: Pre-course survey
Part 2: Attendance at two 1.5-hour live facilitated online training sessions
Part 3: Post-course survey
Learning Outcomes:
Demonstrate confidence in discussing sexual health with patients
Explain the importance of screening and testing for STIs and BBVs
Describe contact tracing and its key role in managing STIs
Accreditation:
This is an RACGP-approved CPD activity under the RACGP CPD Program. It is accredited for 2.5 educational activity hours, and 0.5 reviewing performance hours. Approved by ACRRM for 3 Educational Activity PDP hours.
