Course Overview

Join us in working towards the elimination of hepatitis C in Australia by 2030.  This is an educational opportunity available to participants in Beyond the C and other SA-based primary healthcare workers. 

The webinar will cover an introduction to hepatitis C, including testing, treatment initiation, ongoing surveillance and monitoring, and a summary of hepatitis C clinical auditing and case-finding concepts in primary care.

Target Audience: 

Beyond the C participants, GPs, nurses, practice staff, practice managers, Aboriginal Health Workers and Practitioners, other primary-care providers.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to: 

  • Identify priority populations for HCV screening and case finding in your practice 
  • Order and interpret tests appropriately to diagnose chronic HCV infection
  • Describe the recommended pre-treatment assessment
  • Demonstrate understanding of antiviral therapy for treatment of HCV 
  • Describe a process to recall patients into your practice for hepatitis C testing and care 
  • Identify available resources to support your practice in hepatitis C case finding

 

Endorsement and CPD: 

ASHM will provide a certificate equivalent to 2-hours for all attendees to self-submit CPD with their relevant CPD provider 

 RACGP: 

ASHM is an RACGP-accredited CPD Provider under the RACGP CPD Program. This activity can be claimed for 2 RACGP educational activity hours. 

ACCRM: 

ASHM is an ACRRM-accredited CPD Provider under the ACRRM CPD Program. This activity can be claimed for 2 ACRRM educational activity hours.
