NT HIV and STI Testing and Cultural Appropriate Care
Details
Course Overview
Australia continues to progress in addressing BBVs and STIs – and respecting confidentiality and cultural considerations will ensure a significant reduction in the transmission of these conditions. By ensuring that patients have access to various options for HIV testing, we can decrease HIV transmission within Australia.
This facilitated webinar has been designed for practitioners working in the NT who want to know more about HIV testing. It will cover conditions that indicate HIV testing, which other diagnostic tests are required, and how to discuss testing and results in a culturally appropriate manner.
It will also include a short presentation on the NAPWHA initiative HIVtest.au, a free, accessible, and discreet HIV self-testing kit delivery service that provides one year’s worth of HIV self-testing kits to people living in Australia aged 18 years and older.
