From 1 September 2026, the prescriber accreditation requirement for hepatitis B medicines under the PBS Section 100 (s100) Highly Specialised Drugs Program will be removed. As a result, all medical and authorised nurse practitioners will be able to prescribe hepatitis B antiviral treatment without additional specialist accreditation. ASHM is currently updating its website, education and resources to reflect this change.

This form is for HIV s100 prescribers only to self-submit activities towards their annual Prescriber Point requirements. All submissions are reviewed by the ASHM Prescriber Team before points are awarded.

Log in to MyASHM to check your current points, update your practice listings and submit eligible external HIV activities for Prescriber Points.
ASHM courses, conferences and online modules are recorded by ASHM staff, and your points are added for you. At face-to-face events, make sure you sign the attendance sheet.
For non-ASHM activities, submit each one through the Prescriber Portal as you complete it, with details of the learning outcomes and supporting evidence (for example, a certificate of completion).
External training providers: to have an HIV activity assessed for Prescriber Points, email [email protected] for the adjudication form and attendance sheet.

To check your HIV prescriber points:
This shows the prescriber points you have earned this year and the days remaining. Previous years are listed under ‘Historical Accreditation Information’. To see each activity and the points awarded for it, select the ‘Prescriber Points’ tab.
HIV s100 prescribers who primarily work in a hospital, a sexual health clinic attached to a hospital, or a publicly funded sexual health clinic are considered exempt from continuing professional development and do not need to earn HIV prescriber points to maintain their s100 accreditation. This excludes GP registrars who must earn HIV CPD regardless of their primary setting.
Exempt prescribers are still encouraged to complete ASHM courses and prescriber point activities to maintain clinical competency.
If an exempt prescriber changes settings, their classification as an exempt prescriber is subject to change.
You can track the status of each submission in the ‘Prescriber Points’ tab.
No, if you have attended an ASHM course (online or in-person) or an ASHM conference associated with Prescriber points, your Prescriber points will be automatically awarded. Please allow up to two weeks after the course/conference for the Prescriber points to appear on your record.
Prescriber points associated with ASHM on-demand online learning modules are automatically applied and should appear on your record in 24 hours.
Your prescriber status will be changed to ‘on leave’, meaning you are NOT authorised to prescribe the associated s100 medications. ASHM will email you to confirm your status change and inform the relevant state/territory health department.

To add a new listing to an ASHM prescriber map:
Each listing covers one prescription type. If you want the same practice to appear for HIV, PrEP and HBV, create a separate listing for each.
Note: only current HIV and HBV s100 prescribers will be shown on the associated maps.

Authority to prescribe s100 medicines is granted by each state or territory health department, so let the HIV Prescriber Team know before you move. Email [email protected] with your new state or territory.
Once you know where you will be working, update your practice listings in the MyASHM Prescriber Portal (see ‘How do I update my prescriber map listing?’).
