ASHM Global works closely with in-country partners to strengthen health systems and health workforce capacity to deliver quality and accessible HIV, sexual and reproductive health and viral hepatitis services for all.
Collaboration is central to our global projects. It’s how we ensure we’re providing genuine value to our partners across Asia and the Pacific – by listening, learning and responding to their individual priorities and through supporting locally led responses.
That’s why we proactively engage our partners to better understand the value we bring and how we can continue to collaborate with partners to empower local healthcare workers and community.
Cross-country partnerships are vital for driving improved, lasting health outcomes globally. ASHM is committed to continually evaluating and improving our collaborations to ensure our partnerships are productive, robust, and effective.
ASHM engaged with our current and previous partners from across Asia and the Pacific through in-depth discussions and surveys. We wanted to better understand our strength as a global partner and identify how we can create stronger relationships with organisations working to deliver better outcomes in their communities.
ASHM has provided great management and building of capacity of [our] regional organisation…ASHM also provided experts and mentors who really assisted and built the capacity of our country’s doctors.
Our partners frequently mentioned how ASHM’s expertise in clinical training and mentorship helped to build sustainable health workforces in-region. ASHM’s emphasis on co-design and putting communities and health worker voices first in project development and implementation was praised by our partners.
Many partners also noted that ASHM’s extensive worldwide connections to funders, researchers, governments, and global agencies helped drive positive outcomes and added value to locally-led health responses in-country.
ASHM are a dedicated and professional team who can engage academia, provider/implementer, and community stakeholders in the region in a meaningful way.
Alongside our strengths, our partners provided guidance on how we can improve, including: further development of regional networks, improved monitoring and evaluation of joint projects, and expansion of BBV and HIV clinical training and mentorship. We have already taken steps towards implementing several of their recommendations.
