Mpox transmission rates are increasing across Australia, particularly in NSW and VIC, despite rising vaccination rates. However, only 15–20% of individuals in these states have completed the full two-dose vaccine course. Testing remains crucial, as even vaccinated individuals with mild disease can transmit the virus to those without adequate protection, potentially causing severe illness.
