This mini audit supports clinicians to ensure patients on PrEP are receiving regular guideline-based reviews. By reinforcing follow-up, it promotes safe, effective, and person-centred PrEP care. This audit also strengthens primary care’s role in maintaining high-quality HIV prevention and supporting equitable access to PrEP. 

Why take part in this mini audit 

  • Assess 5-10 patient’s suitability for PrEP as informed by guidelines. 
  • Earn 6 hours of CPD hours (5 MO & 1 RP) 

How long should this mini audit take?  

This mini audit has been designed to take 6 hours across 8-12 weeks to complete. 

Learning Objectives 

  • Identify best‑practice approaches to assessing patients’ suitability for PrEP and supporting ongoing monitoring. 
  • Review the management of a cohort of patients who may be considered for PrEP and/or who are currently using PrEP. 
  • Assess your ongoing monitoring of patients on PrEP against the National PrEP Guidelines.

This activity is endorsed by the RACGP for the 2026–2028 triennium. 
Total CPD hours: 6 hours (5 MO & 1 RP) per mini audit.
