Donate to the Pacific HIV Symposium 2026 to support a coordinated response. Your donation will enable healthcare and community workers from across the Pacific to attend.
Fiji is currently facing the fastest growing HIV epidemic in the world. One baby is diagnosed with HIV every week. One child under the age of five is dying every month.
In the first six months of 2025 alone, more than 1,200 people were diagnosed with HIV.
But Fiji isn’t alone.
Papua New Guinea recently declared a national HIV crisis, with an estimated 30 new infections every day. In 2024, seven babies were diagnosed with HIV per day.
This is an international emergency. As some of our closest neighbours, Australia and New Zealand have a responsibility to support the HIV response as much as we can.
In response to the HIV crises across the Pacific, ASHM is convening the inaugural Pacific HIV Symposium. The Symposium is being led by the local Ministry of Health, and a committee of leaders in the health sector from across the Pacific.
The Pacific HIV Symposium will bring together health leaders, clinicians, policymakers and community leaders from across the Pacific to build a coordinated response to the growing HIV epidemic.
The Symposium comes at a critical time in the world’s fastest growing HIV epidemic – and we need your help.
From now until the Symposium, all donations made to ASHM will go directly to supporting health workers attend the conference. Your donation will support travel to and from the conference, accommodation, and registration for healthcare workers across the Pacific.
Your support will ensure healthcare workers are able to attend this crucial meeting, and help stop the rapidly rising HIV epidemic.
Your support will go towards funding scholarships for people in the Pacific to attend the Pacific HIV Symposium 2026. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
The ASHM finance team will email you tax invoice in June for tax purposes.
Your donation helps ASHM strengthen health systems and train health workers across Asia and the Pacific.
ASHM is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). All donations to ASHM are tax-deductible, and go directly towards our global programs.
