From 1 September 2026, the prescriber accreditation requirement for hepatitis B medicines under the PBS Section 100 (s100) Highly Specialised Drugs Program will be removed. As a result, all medical and authorised nurse practitioners will be able to prescribe hepatitis B antiviral treatment without additional specialist accreditation. ASHM is currently updating its website, education and resources to reflect this change.

Overview

People accessing AOD services often face higher risks of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) and blood-borne viruses (BBVs). Nurses and midwives play a vital role in reducing these risks by integrating sexual health into everyday care.

Presented in collaboration with ASHM and DANA, this two-part recorded webinar series provides practical insights, real-world examples, and peer perspectives to help you enhance STI and BBV testing, treatment, and engagement in AOD settings.

Please note: Each recording can be viewed independently. You may complete either recording or both.
