From 1 September 2026, the prescriber accreditation requirement for hepatitis B medicines under the PBS Section 100 (s100) Highly Specialised Drugs Program will be removed. As a result, all medical and authorised nurse practitioners will be able to prescribe hepatitis B antiviral treatment without additional specialist accreditation. ASHM is currently updating its website, education and resources to reflect this change.

Overview

This webinar series was developed to increase clinician awareness of indicator guided HIV testing in primary and non-HIV specialist care. It builds confidence among GPs and medical specialists to integrate indicator-guided HIV testing into routine clinical practice. Through evidence-based education and audience-specific case studies, participants will learn who to test, how to initiate conversations about HIV, and how to identify clinical indicator conditions that may warrant HIV testing. Each webinar is tailored to its intended audience, ensuring the clinical scenarios and discussions are relevant to the settings in which participants practice.

In addition to this webinar series, clinicians can access the complementary HIV Clinical Indicator Tool, a practical resource designed to support the implementation of indicator-guided HIV testing in everyday practice.

1. Could it be HIV? For General Practitioners
