About the role

  • The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS2) – Population Health Point-of-Care Testing (PoCT) and Dried Blood Spot (DBS) provides advanced clinical support in the delivery and coordination of PoCT and DBS services across adult correctional centres in NSW. 
  • The position functions as a mobile clinical resource, working across multiple sites to support the implementation and delivery of established PoCT and DBS programs at a local level. The role provides advanced clinical expertise, supports consistent clinical practice, and facilitates access to testing and follow-up care. 
  • The CNS2 works with nursing and multidisciplinary teams to support safe, effective, and evidence-based care, and contributes to maintaining clinical standards within an established program framework. 
  • The position contributes to quality improvement activities, data collection, and reporting requirements, and supports education and capability development of staff involved in testing. 
  • This role supports improved patient access to screening, diagnosis and care, and contributes to broader population health outcomes including hepatitis C elimination priorities.
