Hepatitis NSW are seeking individuals with strong communication skills and a community-focused mindset to support engagement with participants, build trust, introduce program information, and facilitate the process, while ensuring all procedures are conducted in accordance with the protocol.
Hepatitis B significantly impacts Chinese people in Australia and can cause serious liver damage if left unmanaged. The team works to provide access to comprehensive liver health testing, including hepatitis B testing, for free to multicultural communities across Sydney. Hepatitis NSW is a not-for-profit health charity that delivers programs that help to improve the health and wellbeing of communities affected by hepatitis B and C.
Hepatits NSW are looking for:
- Fluent Mandarin speakers
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to clearly convey health information
- Experience in health, community services, research, or related fields is preferred; training will be provided
- People living with hep b strongly encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Introduce the hepatitis B screening program to Chinese-speaking community members
- Support participants with registration and informed consent processes Assist the testing team in delivering the screening program
- Support Hepatitis B related community events and outreach activities
Applicants must have strong language skills in both English and Mandarin for this role. This role is currently only available to people who work within the Sydney metropolitan area. Applicants must be able to travel across Sydney. Travel will be paid for by Hepatitis NSW.
