Across Australia, rates of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) are rising. There’s also still plenty of work to do to eliminate the threats posed by hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
Western Australia is not immune. A syphilis outbreak has been declared across the state, and hepatitis C cases continue to be reported. While hepatitis C is now curable in primary care, there are still thousands of people living with the virus in WA – making it all the more important for us to find, test, treat and cure these people.
ASHM is hosting a range of STI and hepatitis C courses tailored specifically for WA healthcare workers in the coming months. No matter your profession or level of experience in STIs and blood-borne viruses, you’ll find the course that’s right for you.
