With syphilis being declared a Communicable Disease Incident of National Significance due to rising case numbers and the re-emergence of congenital syphilis, it’s never been more important to address the infection in antenatal care.
This course is designed for antenatal care providers who are looking to become leaders in their own workplaces on syphilis. You will learn how to support others in your workplace to test, treat and manage syphilis, and ultimately help reduce transmission.
The course uses a train-the-trainer style model to engage experienced facilitators in coaching newer trainers by providing materials along with guidance on delivering them.
Upon completing the program, you will be expected to take on the role of the trainer within your practice setting, using the provided materials and guidance to deliver the training to your colleagues with ongoing support from ASHM.
The live sessions will take 120 minutes. The estimated total time commitment for the program is 3 hours plus additional time for trainers to facilitate the training at their home practice.
