Course overview

This micro-eLearning module is designed to support GPs to confidently request a hepatitis C reflex test. Reflex HCV testing refers to testing for HCV RNA after a positive HCV antibody without the patient having to re-attend a service for follow-up testing. 

The module provides an overview of the tests for hepatitis C diagnosis, types of reflex testing methods, a concise walk-through in practice management software, interpreting test results and considerations around reflex testing for hepatitis C.

On successful completion of this course, you will be able to: 

  • Identify HCV testing pathways. 
  • Understand requirements for GP reflex testing. 
  • Outline process for requesting a hepatitis C reflex test.
