Course Overview:

This 50-minute eLearning provides healthcare providers with a practical overview of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), which can be caused by chronic viral hepatitis infection. The course explores the HCC care pathway, from understanding risk factors through to patient management, with interactive activities designed to reinforce learning and support best practice in clinical care.

Course learning outcomes:

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be able to:

  • Explain the epidemiology and risk factors for HCC, focusing on the role of viral hepatitis  
  • Outline the surveillance process for HCC 
  • Discuss diagnosis and staging of HCC 
  • Compare HCC treatment options 
  • Recognise your role in managing viral hepatitis patients with HCC

CPD: 

  • 1 HBV Prescriber Point for accredited Hepatitis B s100 Prescribers.
  • ACRRM: This course has been approved by ACRRM as an accredited activity. Allocated total 1 PDP units: 0.75 Educational Activity and 0.25 Performance Review. 
  • RACGP: This course has been approved as a CPD activity by RACGP for the 2023-2025 triennium. Educational Activities: 1 hour.
  • APNA: This activity has been endorsed by APNA according to approved quality standards criteria. Completion of these educational activities entitles eligible participants to claim 50 CPD minutes.
