Course overview

Primary care providers are key to achieving hepatitis C elimination in Australia by 2030. A collaboration between Hepatitis SA and ASHM’s national hepatitis C case finding project Beyond the C, this course supports participants to confidently diagnose, assess, manage, and treat hepatitis C, with an introduction to clinical auditing and case finding in primary care.

Presenters:

This training is delivered in partnership with Hepatitis SA by a specialist panel with expertise in HCV treatment, management, and case finding:

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this course and its components, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the impact of stigma and discrimination on people living with, or at risk of, hepatitis C
  • Identify indications for testing and how to diagnose hepatitis C infection
  • Describe key elements of pre-treatment assessment
  • Explain hepatitis C treatment and post-treatment monitoring
  • Identify priority populations for HCV screening and case finding in your practice
  • Describe a process to undertake hepatitis C quality improvement in your practice
