This month, ASHM launches an exciting new facilitated online course for primary care providers who provide contraceptive consultations. Through case studies, presentations and group discussion, Contraception Essentials in Primary Care will increase your knowledge and confidence in discussing the benefits of Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) to reduce the incidence of unintended pregnancy amongst your patient population.
This course will be particularly relevant for, but not limited to, general practitioners, nurse practitioners and practice nurses and practice managers working in primary care settings. Those located in NSW/ACT are encouraged to register for the pilot course on 4th & 5th of April.
This course will be run numerous times throughout 2023; to be notified when the course is available in your jurisdiction, please join the waitlist.
This course is complemented by ASHM’s new resource, Decision Making in Contraception: Consultation Essentials. This resource supports clinicians through the process of a contraceptive consultation, with reminders of key discussion points and considerations to work through with patients.
ASHM is grateful to Organon for an unrestricted educational grant which supported the development of this course and resource.
