Overview

This online learning module is the first in a 3 part Monitoring and Evaluation Training Package for UNAIDS Technical Support Mechanism (TSM) Consultants.

It is followed by Module 2: Data Analysis, Sensemaking and Visualisation and Module 3: Communicating Data for Change. The training modules can be done independently of each other, but for best outcomes it is advised to complete them in order.

This module provides an overview of the principles and practices that are central to making and managing quality data. After completing this module, you should be able to:

  • Describe the role of an M&E consultant in the M&E cycle
  • Describe the existing M&E tools and indicators, relevant to HIV, that support data collection and management
  • Describe strategies for collecting and managing quantitative and qualitative data
  • Explain how to collect and manage meaningful data including disaggregated data, relevant to HIV programming
  • Describe how you would support local organisations to establish and maintain quality data collection and management systems.

Please proceed with the two elements of content below. A certificate of completion will be automatically generated once you have completed all elements of the course.
