With more than six million Australians affected by liver disease and more than 7,000 Australians dying each year from chronic liver disease, it is crucial to raise awareness of liver health.

Did you know?

  • Hepatitis B and hepatitis C are the primary causes of hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) in Australia.
  • Hepatitis B and hepatitis C can be managed in primary care, with effective treatments available for hepatitis B and an effective cure available for hepatitis C, meaning that liver cancer can be prevented!

In recognition of World Liver Day, ASHM encourages its members to spread the word about liver health, including hepatitis B and hepatitis C.

Find out more about how you can help to improve liver health outcomes by increasing testing, treatment, and ongoing management of hepatitis B and hepatitis C through attending ASHM training and reading ASHM resources.
