1st Triple Elimination Training conducted in PNG through the STEPT project
Triple Elimination training was delivered in Mt Hagen from 20th –24th March. This was the first of its kind in PNG and was delivered in partnership with the NDoH. Health Workers attended from Western Highlands, Southern Highlands, Simbu, Enga, and West New Britian Catholic Church Health Service facilities along with staff from each of the Provincial Health Authorities. Team members from the ACT UP program from Mt Hagen, Port Moresby and Goroka were also able to join. A special thank you to the CCHS team and patients at the Rebiamul Clinic for providing the participants with practical experience.
The goal of the training was to equip health workers with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to achieve three important healthcare goals: elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis and birth dose of Hepatitis B vaccination.
The STEPT is delivered in partnership with the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) and with support from our ASHM Membership.
