ASHM is a proud member of the International Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Consortium. Along with other consortium members, Dr Michelle O’Connor, Director of ASHM’s Global Division attended the Australian Parliamentarian Group on Population and Development last week at Parliament House and a roundtable Chaired by Dr Lucas De Toka, First Assistant Secretary, DFAT Global Health Division. 

Bjorn Andersson, Director of Asia-Pacific Regional Office of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), along with UNFPA colleagues and the consortium members discussed reproductive health and rights, gender equality and the risk of anti-feminist movements derailing gains made within these two areas in the Asia and the Pacific.  

ASHM congratulates the Australian Government on placing gender equality at the heart of their aid program in the new International Development Policy.
