This free training course provides nurses and midwives with the knowledge and confidence to increase screening and management of hepatitis C in primary care settings.

Target Audience:
This training is for nurses and midwives working across varied service settings in NSW, including general practice and other primary care settings, hospital settings, Correctional settings, Drug and Alcohol services, Sexual/reproductive health services and Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Organisations. Nurses and midwives working outside of NSW are also welcome to register, capacity permitting.

Course Components:
This facilitated training consists of a 3-hour interactive webinar comprising of presentations, panel discussions, case studies and group discussions.
Learning Outcomes:
- Identify when testing/screening for hepatitis C is indicated.
- Interpret hepatitis C test results.
- Discuss required pre-treatment assessments for hepatitis C.
- Determine which treatment, monitoring and follow-up required for hepatitis C.
- Examine the role of the nurse and midwife in models of care for hepatitis C testing, treatment and follow-up.
Endorsement and CPD:
This training is endorsed by ACN according to our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Endorsed Course Standards. It has been allocated 3 CPD hours according to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia – Continuing Professional Development Standard. Endorsement by ACM is pending.
