From 1 September 2026, the prescriber accreditation requirement for hepatitis B medicines under the PBS Section 100 (s100) Highly Specialised Drugs Program will be removed. As a result, all medical and authorised nurse practitioners will be able to prescribe hepatitis B antiviral treatment without additional specialist accreditation. ASHM is currently updating its website, education and resources to reflect this change.

Decision Making in Hepatitis C resource is a 2-page guide designed to support general practitioners (GPs), nurse practitioners, and other primary care providers in effectively managing hepatitis C. This resource provides a concise yet comprehensive overview of the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of hepatitis C, empowering healthcare professionals to deliver optimal care to their patients.
Beyond the C is a national partnership program with General Practice, to find people who may be living with Hepatitis C, engage and connect them with care.
