Course overview

Course Description: 

Point-of-care testing provides results rapidly and can facilitate more immediate access to treatment. 

This webinar aims to provide participants with the new updates to the national Hepatitis C Testing Policy, including high-quality point-of-care testing for HCV antibodies and HCV RNA for the diagnosis and management of HCV.  The webinar will also cover the implementation of point-of-care testing in ACT and case studies.

  • This webinar is for ACT-based Healthcare providers in primary care, including general practitioners, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other primary care-based health care workers.

Course Components: 

Part 1: Overview of what’s new in the National Hepatitis C Testing Policy 

Part 2: Implementation of point-of-care testing in ACT region and models of care for Hepatitis C screening and treatment

  • Describe HCV screening, testing and diagnosis 
  • Identify local testing and referral pathways 
  • Interpret hepatitis C test results
