Course Overview

Course Description: 
Join our interactive course on HCV management in primary care! This course aims to empower participants with the skills and confidence to diagnose, assess, manage, and treat hepatitis C (HCV) in primary care.  Treatment with direct acting antivirals is easier than ever. Increasing HCV treatment in primary care is crucial to achieving HCV elimination in Australia by 2030


Date, Time & Venue: 

Wednesday, 26 June 2024 

6:30pm – 8:30pm AWST 



Target Audience: 
General practitioners, nurse practitioners, other practitioners prescribing or intending to prescribe s85 direct-acting antiviral medication for HCV in primary care settings  



This training includes expert-led presentations and facilitated case discussions delivered by specialists, GPs, and Peer/Lived Experience workforce with expertise in HCV management and treatment.  


Course Components: 

  1. Completion of the pre-course survey    
  1. Completion of the Optional Pre-course Online Learning Module   
  1. Attendance at the 2-hour interactive webinar   
  1. Completion of the post course survey  


Learning Outcomes 

  • Identify when screening and testing for HCV is indicated  
  • Interpret HCV test results     
  • Discuss required pre-treatment assessments  
  • Determine which treatment, monitoring, and follow-up is required.    


Endorsement and CPD: 

ASHM is an RACGP-accredited CPD Provider under the RACGP CPD Program.
