ASHM is committed to working in partnership with and under the guidance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to provide sustainable and effective support to the BBV and STI workforce.


ASHM offers a comprehensive range of practical resources, education, training and support, tailored to meet the needs of the health care sector who work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

  • ASHM's education and resources are developed in consultation with clinical advisors with extensive experience in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health.

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are a priority population across HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmissible infections (STI).

  • In order to provide culturally appropriate, sustainable and effective support to the HIV, viral hepatitis and sexual health workforce, ASHM is committed to working in partnership with, and under the guidance of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, particularly their professional organisations.

  • ASHM is able to devise training and educational courses to meet the needs of general practitioners, nurses, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and others who work with Indigenous communities.
