An abstract is a means of conveying your research, what was done and why, what was found, and the implications. Now is your chance to participate in ASHM conferences, start planning your abstract for submission before the deadlines (see above for hyperlinks to conferences).

Important points to remember:

  • Abstracts should be clear, concise, clear and cohesive
  • Explain why your abstract is important or novel
  • Read the abstract submission instructions
  • Don’t wait until the last day to prepare
  • Have someone with experience review your abstract

Why writing a strong abstract is important:

  • Helps the conference organiser decide if your project/study/analysis fits the conference criteria
  • Helps the conference audience decide whether to attend your presentation
