Professor Gail Matthews is Head of Infectious Diseases at St Vincent’s Hospital as well as Head of the Therapeutic Vaccine and Research Program at the Kirby Institute, UNSW. She has a strong background in HIV, viral hepatitis and strategic therapeutic clinical trials.

Gail's work with ASHM has included the development of Hepatitis B and C Testing and Treatment Guidelines for Solomon Islands and Vanuatu and updating the same guidelines for Fiji. She is a member of the International Board Advisory Group.
