ASHM is pleased to announce the 2022 Australasian Contact Tracing Guidelines are now available on a new revamped website.

The Australasian Contact Tracing Guidelines have undergone a full review and update and are now available on a brand-new website

Some of the updates include:

  • the use of gender inclusive language,
  • expanded explanation of male gender diversity and includes reference to non-cis-gender and non-gender specific people
  • revised guidance around presumptive treatment of chlamydia and gonorrhoea for sexual contacts
  • The section on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples section was considerably expanded to reflect specific approaches and is more of a specific step-by-step guide than for other population groups
  • The section on people from CALD backgrounds has been expanded to give greater acknowledgement of factors at play such as cultural sensitivities around topics such as sexuality, gender, illicit drug use and stigma and discrimination and privacy concerns.
  • The section covering where violence is a concern has been expanded and a range of resources added to facilitate immediate referrals to appropriate services
  • Case studies were updated to reflect birthdates as an identifier are no longer required
  • My health Record was added to the Privacy and Laws section
  • Security and storage of information has been updated in line with Commonwealth Law and State and Territory legislation added
