SHINE SA was established in 1970 as the Family Planning Association of South Australia and has a long-held reputation as a leader in the non-government sector in the provision of primary health services and education for sexual and reproductive health and relationship wellbeing.

With a vision of “Sexual and relationship wellbeing for all” SHINE SA provides clinical, education, counselling and preventative health care including health promotion services to disadvantaged groups, young people and the wider community, with the aim to improve sexual and reproductive health, physical, mental and social wellbeing.

SHINE SA is now recruiting Directors for the Board of SHINE SA, a not-for-profit Company Limited by Guarantee, registered under the Corporations Act 2001. Suitably qualified and experienced applicants are encouraged to share their skills and vision for SHINE SA in their application found at

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate corporate governance skills and a desire to advance SHINE SA’s strategic objectives. While not essential, skills and experience in research, education and clinical services will be well regarded as will Australian Institute of Company Directors qualifications. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds or from the LGBTIQA+ community, will bring skills and experience which is highly valued at SHINE SA.

Short listed applicants will be required to undergo formal probity checks including a Working With Children Check, an Australian Securities and Investments Commission Disqualification Register Check, and a National Personal Insolvency Index Check. This is not a paid position, but reasonable expenses will be covered. Qualifications with a recognised association such as AICD will be highly regarded.
