Adjunct Associate Professor Levinia Crooks, AM has resigned due to health reasons, as Chief Executive Officer of the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM). A/Prof Crooks has worked tirelessly for the organisation for eighteen years and her outstanding professional and personal contribution to the HIV and broader BBV and sexual health responses in Australia have been invaluable.

ASHM President, Professor Mark Boyd, expressed his sincere thanks. "Levinia has been one of Australia's leading HIV advocates. Her work at local, national and international levels has been extraordinary. She has used the experience from the HIV sector to push for dramatic changes in the viral hepatitis response. Under her stewardship, ASHM has increased its involvement supporting the workforce in HIV, viral hepatitis and sexual health. Her thought leadership and untiring commitment to bringing people together to catalyse change will be enormously missed."

Scott McGill will continue to lead ASHM as Acting Chief Executive Officer. The ASHM Board of Directors will work with senior management staff over the next 6 months towards the recruitment of a permanent CEO.

The ASHM Board, staff team and members will miss Levinia's unflagging support, as well as her wise guidance, deep expertise and long experience. As ever ASHM remains committed to its ongoing role within the sector and strong relationships, partnerships and collaborations.
